Position Overview

As an Early Childhood Educator at Primrose School of North Edison, you will play a crucial role in nurturing young minds as they explore and comprehend their surroundings.

We are in search of a passionate and skilled Educator to design and execute a continuous program of activities that foster the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth of each child, aligned with the Primrose Balanced Learning methodology.

Primrose School of North Edison is a recognized private preschool that delivers an exceptional educational childcare experience. We provide year-round programs for children from infancy through elementary school age.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the daily operations and supervision of a group of children.
  • Adhere to all regulations and guidelines set forth by Primrose School of North Edison and relevant local, state, or national agencies regarding child health, safety, and care.
  • Continuously evaluate each child's developmental needs.
  • Implement approved lesson plans and daily schedules in accordance with the Primrose Balanced Learning curriculum.
  • Collaborate with a member of the Leadership Team to organize parent-teacher conferences and student assessments.
  • Maintain an engaging and well-organized classroom that encourages creativity, exploration, and decision-making.
  • Provide positive reinforcement and set clear expectations for children's behavior.
  • Take responsibility for the upkeep and cleanliness of the classroom, shared areas, and playgrounds.
  • Participate in all mandatory staff meetings, workshops, and school events.
  • Uphold a professional appearance in line with the guidelines in the Primrose School of North Edison Employee Handbook.
  • Assist in additional duties as assigned by the Director or their designee.
Qualifications:
  • Must meet the basic requirements of the local childcare regulatory agency.
  • Prior experience in a teaching or assistant teaching role within a licensed early childhood program is preferred.
  • Understanding of the social, emotional, and creative needs of young children.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. for the safe handling of children and in emergency situations. For Infant and Young Toddler educators, the ability to properly lift infants in and out of cribs is essential.
