Position Overview

The Echocardiography Technologist plays a crucial role in the field of diagnostic imaging, focusing on the acquisition and analysis of echocardiographic examinations. This position is essential for maintaining the functionality of the echocardiography laboratory and ensuring optimal patient care.

Certification Requirements
  • Completion of a Specialty Training Program in Cardiac Ultrasound (mandatory)
  • At least 2 years of relevant professional experience (mandatory)
  • Basic Life Support Certification
  • Cardiovascular Credentialing International Certification to be obtained within 6 months of employment
  • Certified Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer certification required within 6 months of employment
Job Responsibilities
  • Specializes in Diagnostic Imaging techniques
  • Available for weeknight and weekend on-call duties
  • Conducts a range of technical tasks essential for echocardiographic examinations
  • Executes and processes echocardiographic tests across various modalities, including two-dimensional, three-dimensional, M-mode, Doppler, and specialized procedures
  • Performs emergency procedures as necessary and manages the transportation of equipment and patients
  • Utilizes digital computer analysis systems to analyze and archive echocardiographic data
  • Contributes to the development and maintenance of internal training programs and provides technical instruction in echocardiographic techniques
  • Participates in approved research initiatives
  • Delivers mobile echocardiography services as directed
  • Interprets and adheres to policies and guidelines to define procedures and achieve objectives
  • Work is primarily conducted in a clinical setting
  • Responsible for fulfilling all job-specific duties and complying with organizational policies and procedures
Job Requirements
  • Graduate of a Cardiac Ultrasound Training Program (mandatory)
  • ARDMS or RCS Certification
  • Willingness to travel for staffing coverage at outreach clinic sites as required
