Financial Planning Specialist

At Desert Financial Credit Union, we are seeking a highly skilled Financial Planning Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our financial services team, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional financial planning services to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with financial advisors to gather client information and assess financial goals, risk tolerance, and investment preferences.
  • Conduct thorough research on investment products, insurance options, and other financial instruments to provide accurate recommendations that align with client needs.
  • Utilize financial planning software and tools to create detailed financial projections, retirement plans, and investment scenarios.
  • Assist advisors in creating comprehensive financial plans by preparing documents, reports, and presentations that outline recommended strategies and solutions.
  • Analyze client's income, taxes, insurance policies, expenses, assets, and debt.
  • Maintain an organized system for managing client data, ensuring the security and confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Communicate with clients professionally and efficiently, addressing any queries or concerns they may have about their financial plans.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years of Financial Services experience.
  • 3+ years of financial planning, paraplanning, and/or advisor support experience.
  • Proficient in financial planning software.
  • Project prioritization and time management skills.
  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Strong follow-through, organized, detail-oriented, resourceful, and proactive.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial information.
  • Understanding of regulatory compliance within the financial services sector.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certified Financial Planner (CFP).
  • Financial Planner Qualified Professional (FPQP).
  • Series 7 - General Securities Representative.
  • Series 66 - Uniform Combined State Law.
