Job Summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled Occupational Safety Specialist to join our team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough inspections of construction work sites to ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards.
  • Issue work permits for confined space entry, hotworks, trenching and excavation, high work, and similar hazardous work.
  • Investigate workplace injuries and develop technical reports to document incidents and make recommendations for prevention.
  • Prepare for, respond to, and mitigate emergencies such as fires, flooding, and hazardous materials incidents.
  • Oversee and manage small projects or inspection programs.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a safety-related field or equivalent experience.
  • OSHA 10, OSHA 30, and OSHA 501 certifications.
  • Strong preference for candidates with ASP or CSP certifications.
  • Experience with safety regulations and standards, as well as knowledge of hazardous materials and waste management.
