Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team at Packaging Coordinators, Inc. This role will be responsible for negotiating and procuring components and materials, evaluating vendor services and quotes, and supporting customer demand using effective management of a diverse and cost-efficient base of certified vendors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate sales quotes to select vendors for quoting process opportunities.
  • Manage all vendor and communication-related tasks, including component or material orders, transport or carrier damage, non-conforming components or materials, and paperwork discrepancies.
  • Set goals to track KPIs and measure results in accordance with the company's vision and goals of 2-3% savings year over year.
  • Support existing and new component purchases with the selection of the most capable and cost-effective suppliers to meet material specifications.
  • Drive Vendor Management to ensure the highest level of quality and service, selecting and partnering with key suppliers to ensure cost-effective and high-quality delivery of products.
  • Partner with key functions, including finance, estimating, business development, and operations to drive results that align with the company's goals and objectives.
  • Develop innovative and bold strategies to drive savings in new ways while managing, engaging, and promoting continuous cost reduction and quality improvement efforts.
  • Be a liaison between vendors, business units, and operations teams to deal with material or service issues in a timely fashion.
  • Identify and leverage opportunities for continuous improvement and manage financial risk, analyzing purchase price variances compared to quotes.
  • Ensure that all components will run on selected PCI machines for production, managing inventory levels, warehouse capacity, and slow-moving inventory.
  • Ensure adherence to all company policies and processes for the entire Procurement team.
  • This position may require overtime and/or weekend work.
  • Knowledge of and adherence to all PCI, cGMP, and GCP policies, procedures, rules.
  • Attendance to work is an essential function of this position.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Manager/Supervisor.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field and/or 1-5 years related experience and/or training.
  • College-level mathematical skills.
  • Intermediate computer skills: ability to perform more complex computer tasks and has knowledge of various computer programs.
  • Full professional proficiency: ability to speak, read, and write fluently and accurately on all levels pertinent to professional needs.
  • High reasoning: ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where there is only limited standardization.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to exhibit sound and accurate judgment.
  • Ability to effectively present information to various people as the job requires.
  • Ability to display a willingness to make decisions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment on a daily basis.
  • Ability to work independently and/or as part of a team.
