Job Title: Swim Instructor and Lifeguard

Join our team at Goldfish Swim School of Reston as a Swim Instructor and Lifeguard As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing swim instruction to students of all ages and skill levels, while ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide swim instruction to students based on the Goldfish Swim School curriculum.
  • Enforce safety rules and regulations to prevent accidents and make rescues when necessary.
  • Evaluate student progress and complete required paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Interact with parents/guardians on student activities and development.
  • Act as a GSS ambassador to ensure parental satisfaction.
  • Use problem-solving and creative thinking skills to identify and resolve challenges that students encounter.
  • Inspect pool areas before and after each class for maintenance, cleanliness, or damage issues.
  • Maintain and ensure proper storage of all pool equipment.
  • Report accidents and incidents to management and complete required documentation.
  • Perform Deck Teacher duties as needed.
  • Perform light cleaning duties such as window washing, deck mopping, and trash removal.
  • Attend required/mandatory workshops and in-service training outside of regular working hours.
Requirements:
  • Must be 16 years of age or older.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
  • Experience as a certified lifeguard, youth sports instructor/coach, camp counselor, or childcare professional preferred.
