Job Description

South Shore Health is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our IMCU team on a per diem basis. As a Registered Nurse in this role, you will provide high-quality patient care and work collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team to achieve exceptional patient outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized, outcome-oriented nursing care through the use of the nursing process.
  • Manage patient care through the successful coordination and completion of a series of processes, including assessment, planning, and providing care.
  • Commit to working a minimum of 32 hours per 4-week schedule block, with at least 16 hours worked during a night and/or weekend shift.
  • Work one major winter or one major summer holiday.
  • Administer medications, complete medication reconciliation, and document narcotic withdrawal and administration.
  • Develop, discuss, and communicate a prioritized problem list/plan of care for each patient.
  • Document patient care following departmental and hospital policies and procedures.
  • Foster a culture of safety through personal ownership and commitment to a safe environment.
  • Verify patient identification with two identifiers prior to invasive procedures and document confirmation of correct patient, procedure, site, equipment, and consent.
  • Comply with current CDC hand hygiene guidelines and adhere to universal precautions.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Previous acute care RN experience preferred.
  • RN - Registered Nurse licensure in Massachusetts.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification, or other certifications as required by the department.
