Interventional Radiologic Technologist II

Christus Health is seeking a highly skilled Interventional Radiologic Technologist II to join our team in the Surgery department. As a key member of our imaging team, you will be responsible for assisting in the performance of complex specialized tasks, operating fluoroscopy, computed tomography, laser, and ultrasonography equipment during vascular and neuroradiology angiographic and interventional procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development and implementation of systems to ensure the smooth and efficient flow of patients for procedures in the Interventional labs.
  • Circulate and scrub during procedures, provide patient teaching, and assist with patient care within the scope of practice.
  • Manage inventory and coordinate schedules to ensure the availability of necessary supplies and equipment.
  • Assist surgeons and OR associates with the operation of imaging equipment within the surgery department.
  • Provide diagnostic images for invasive procedures, including arteriography, insertions, permcatheter placement, stenting, dialysis dicots, thrombolytic procedures, and angioplasty.
  • Operate and manipulate special procedures equipment, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
  • Obtain optimum quality and accuracy of images.
  • Assist in scheduling patients for procedures, ensuring all necessary supplies, equipment, and previous films are readily available for the Interventional Radiologist.
  • Operate a variety of fixed and portable radiographic and fluoroscopic equipment located throughout the hospital, including surgical suites and intensive care units.
  • Demonstrate competence in performing assigned patient care responsibilities, meeting the age-specific and developmental needs of patients.
  • Send images to PACS and complete workflows in EPIC.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Radiology Technology or other accepted and approved equivalent.
  • At least 12 months of training/experience in special procedures.
