Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Derrick Hand to join our team at Axis Education Solutions LLC. As a key member of our workover rig crew, you will be responsible for performing various services on our workover rigs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the operator in rigging up and down, and perform servicing on the well.
  • Responsible for all elevated work associated with rigging up/down, including removing horse heads from pumping units.
  • Operate tubing elevators for standing tubing in the derrick.
  • Assist in picking up or laying down tubing, manually lifting it from the rack onto the work floor or vice versa.
  • Set hydraulic jacks, handle pads/boards, and assist in attaching guy wires to the anchor.
  • Report any safety hazards, accidents, or maintenance issues to the Tool Pusher/Field Supervisor.
  • Ensure that work carried out follows Axis policies and procedures and according to Axis and customer safety programs.
Requirements
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Valid state-issued driver's license with an acceptable motor vehicle record (MVR); CDL Class A or B preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year of Derrick hand experience required; at least 2 years of workover rig floor experience required.
  • Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and written in English.
  • Ability to work a varied rotational schedule and travel as job requires.
  • Ability to lift heavy equipment up to 75 lbs.
  • Ability to access the work environment by use of a ladder at heights of 50 ft. or more.
Working Conditions

The Derrick Hand will work in a fast-paced environment and be required to handle multiple tasks at once. The ability to interact with others in a team environment and work in a variety of weather conditions is essential.
