The Senior Financial Analyst is crucial in managing and reconciling our financial accounts. Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate actively in month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities, including the preparation of journal entries and general ledger analysis.
  • Develop and uphold the company's accounting systems, ensuring accurate documentation and record-keeping.
  • Collaborate with Operations and Warehouse teams to streamline business processes and adhere to accounting policies.
  • Conduct monthly balance sheet reconciliations related to inventory management.
  • Oversee inventory valuation and contribute to margin analysis efforts.
  • Execute variance analysis, including discrepancies between purchase prices and costs, invoice and purchase order price variances, and work order variances.
  • Establish cost metrics for business processes such as administration, labor, and shipping.
  • Serve as the financial lead for periodic physical inventory assessments and monthly cycle counts, ensuring accurate financial reporting.
  • Identify process inefficiencies, propose corrective measures, and implement improvements while leveraging internal systems and relationships.
  • Assist with special projects and research tasks as directed by management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in inventory analysis, reconciliation, and valuation.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Experience in the wholesale or distribution sector is essential.
  • Familiarity with inventory cost flows and their impact on financial statements is highly desirable.
  • Ability to independently resolve customer issues while collaborating with customer service and sales teams.
  • Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Excel, including the ability to create and maintain complex models.
  • Experience with high-volume daily transactions.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems (Sage X3 experience is a plus).
  • Experience in a fast-paced, high-growth environment is advantageous.

Compensation:

Starting annual salary: $90,000 - $100,000, with variations based on skills and experience.
