Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Roofing Specialist to join our team at Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and replacing roof coverings and assemblies, as well as inspecting and repairing roof penetrations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and repair roof coverings and assemblies, including clay and concrete tile, asphalt shingles, sheet metal, and built-up asphalt roofs.
  • Inspect and repair roof penetrations, such as drain pipes, skylights, and HVAC ducts.
  • Provide emergency services for leak repairs during and after working hours.
  • Inspect and repair roofing sub-structures, sheeting, and framing.
  • Maintain watertight integrity of the entire building envelope, including windows, doors, parapets, and sub-grade construction.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • 3-5 years of experience in roofing.
  • Ability to repair BUR, Standing Seam Metal Roofs, Shingles, Modified Bitumen, Single ply Roofs - EPDM, PVC, TPO, Hypalon.
  • Valid Driver's License and ability to obtain a CDL Class A Driver's license.
  • Ability to obtain a District-approved certification or state licensure and/or varies roofing product-specific certification(s).
Working Conditions

The work environment is sometimes uncomfortable, but relief from the situation is not required during a normal work shift. The job requires frequent exposure to one or more disagreeable work and/or climate conditions, such as a hot, wet, stormy, dusty, or noisy immediate work area.
