As an Educational Support Specialist at Mount Prospect Academy, you will play a crucial role in nurturing the academic and social development of our students. Your dedication to education will be vital in helping students achieve their goals.
Reporting Structure:
This position reports directly to the Dean of Students and the Academic Director.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Education Team to ensure a safe and supportive learning environment for all students.
- Assist educators in delivering tailored instruction and assessments based on individual academic needs and IEP requirements.
- Supervise students during class activities, including physical education and arts, to promote engagement and participation.
- Maintain accurate documentation as required, including attendance records and incident reports.
- Support students during transitional periods, such as lunch and school start/end times, to foster accountability.
- Participate in community-based activities and assist with appointments as needed.
- Provide assistance to the Dean of Students or Academic Director in daily operations.
- Engage in mandatory professional development training sessions offered by the program.
- Facilitate transportation for students and educators for various activities when necessary.
- Attend student meetings, including IEPs and ITPs, as directed by the Dean of Students or Academic Director.
- Participate in staff meetings and understand the organizational structure and philosophy of Mount Prospect Academy.
- Represent Mount Prospect Academy positively to the community and external agencies.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, ensuring a commitment to equal opportunity and public access.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of two years of experience working with children or youth in various capacities, such as coaching, counseling, or childcare.
