Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, configure, and sustain the Linux systems architecture.
  • Oversee and maintain both virtual machines and physical servers.
  • Guarantee the security, availability, and dependability of the Linux systems infrastructure.
  • Comprehend and effectively apply organizational-specific policies, security controls, and STIG checklists.
  • Deliver technical support and resolve issues related to Linux systems and applications.
  • Conduct regular system backups and develop disaster recovery strategies.
  • Monitor system performance and resource utilization.
  • Plan and optimize workflows and procedures to support lifecycle maintenance.
Qualifications:

Experience & Education:
  • Eligible under the DCWF (DoD Cyber Workforce Framework).
  • IAT-II (IAT Level 2) / IT Cyber Intermediate DoD 8140 Cyber Workforce Qualification Program (or DoD 8570 equivalent).
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a Linux Systems Administrator role or a related position.
  • Possession of a Secret (or higher) Security clearance.
  • Security+ certification.
  • Familiarity with the RMF cybersecurity framework.
  • Preferred additional experience with (professional or personal experience acceptable):
  • Linux+ certification.
  • ACAS / Tenable Security Center.
  • eMASS.
  • DADMS.
  • IaaC tools (such as Puppet, Chef, Ansible, Terraform, etc.).
  • Container technologies (such as Docker, LXC, etc.).
  • Kubernetes (Rancher, RKE, kubectl).
Skills:
  • Proficient in Linux (specifically RHEL) systems administration, including installation, configuration, and maintenance.
  • Understanding of network protocols and concepts (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
  • Experience with security best practices and the Navy RMF process.
  • Proficiency in automation and scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python, Perl).
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
