Job Requirements
  • Experience: Must have experience in Oncology
  • Certifications: ONS Chemotherapy Provider card required
  • Skills: Inpatient oncology, active immunotherapy, administration of chemotherapy, body fluid handling, post chemotherapy management, cytotoxic spills, monitoring chemotherapy, recognizing and communicating abnormal lab values, accessing ports, administration of coagulation factors, blood/blood product administration, care and management of ports, central line blood draw, central line/implanted line care, PICC line care, starting IVs, medications: antiemetic, corticosteroids, neupogen, hormonal therapy, acute tumor lysis syndrome (ATLS), anaphylaxis, extravasation injury, hemorrhage, sepsis, spinal cord compression, pain management, IV push narcotic agents, medication tolerance/dependence assessment, PCA pump management, transdermal patches, professional knowledge and skills: chest tube care and management, colostomy care and management, foley catheter insertion/management, isolation precautions, neutropenic precautions, phlebotomy skills, telemetry interpretation, telemetry monitoring, tracheostomy care/management, wound care, psychosocial care, advanced directives, hospice care, patient/family education and support, withholding/withdrawing treatment, radiation therapy, external radiation therapy (teletherapy), radiation safety precautions, total body irradiation (TBI), wound care, symptom management, alteration in skin and mucous membranes, altered mental status, constipation/diarrhea, dysphagia, edema, nausea/vomiting, neuropathy, surgery, post surgical care
