Production Manager

Quantum Design, a leading manufacturer of advanced physics technology, is seeking a skilled Production Supervisor to lead our production team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for directing daily activities to meet safety, quality, and productivity goals while driving continuous improvement using Lean methodologies.
Key Responsibilities:- Direct a manufacturing department and manage resources, equipment, and staff to meet production schedules and inventory levels.
- Responsible for hiring, training, directing, motivating, and appraising staff, including disciplinary action and termination.
- Define employee goals and growth paths, monitor performance, and conduct regular alignment and performance reviews.
- Develop and coach production area leads, determine work schedules, and resolve personnel challenges.
- Track key performance indicators, communicate results to staff and management, and drive efficiency gains, cost reduction, and quality improvement.
- Act as a change agent for eliminating waste throughout the manufacturing operation by deploying Lean methodologies.
- Identify manufacturing deficiencies, investigate root causes, and participate in corrective action processes.
- Drive a quality and safety-focused culture by involving employees in problem-solving and decision-making.
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline (preferred).
- 5 years of experience in leading a manufacturing team.
- Strong team spirit, expertise in training and motivating employees, and proficiency in prioritizing deadlines and delegating tasks.
- Skilled in conflict resolution, competent in standard inventory practices, and experienced in creating operating procedures and reading technical drawings.
- Quality and safety-focused, with expertise in training tool usage and safety, and a strong ability to seek out project closure.
- Proven understanding and practice of Lean Manufacturing concepts, with strong written and verbal communication skills, including group presentations.
- Proficient in MS Office tools and available to work weekends when required.
$70,000 - $100,000 per annum.
