Position Overview: The Automotive Body Repair Technician plays a crucial role in restoring damaged vehicle body parts and surfaces to meet the high standards of quality set by manufacturers and dealerships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize all body shop tools and equipment safely and effectively.
- Eliminate rust, grease, and debris from work areas.
- Prepare surfaces for paint application using both manual and power sanding techniques.
- Mix paint to ensure it matches the manufacturer's color specifications.
- Apply paint using appropriate methods, including sprayers or brushes.
- Keep tools organized and maintain equipment in optimal working condition.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and wear necessary protective gear.
- Follow regulations regarding hazardous materials, including paints and thinners.
- Collaborate with team members in vehicle repair and preparation tasks.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in automotive painting within a dealership or collision/body shop environment.
- Experience with waterborne paint is essential.
- Ability to read and understand technical instructions and information.
- General mechanical aptitude is required.
- Strong attention to detail and color matching skills.
- Self-motivated and reliable work ethic.
- Authorization to work in the United States is mandatory.
