We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Ophthalmic Scribe to join our team at Atlantic Vision Partners. As an Ophthalmic Scribe, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our ophthalmologists and optometrists in their daily activities.
Key Responsibilities- Obtain and document patient history, including medical and surgical history, medications, and allergies.
- Follow the AVP care-pathing model to ensure accurate and efficient documentation of patient care.
- Determine visual acuity and understand routine and basic medical ICD-10 codes.
- Understand routine insurance plans and use lensometer (manual and auto) to perform eye exams.
- Responsible for stocking rooms, understanding scheduling, and completing monthly chart audits.
- Administer eye drops, ointments, and irrigating solutions to the eye as ordered by physician.
- Perform office duties and clinical tasks, including entering data into EMR and providing patient services.
- Dependable transportation required to travel to other offices as required.
- Must be flexible with traveling to various locations.
- Ability to pay attention to detail and maintain confidentiality.
- The ability to seek instruction in areas where he/she is not knowledgeable.
- The ability to recognize inconsistencies.
- High School diploma or GED, associate degree preferred.
- Billing and Coding Certification required within 1-2 years from being in role.
- OSC Certification required within 1 year of being in role.
- Ability to perform essential functions of the position with or without accommodation, including the ability to use power hand tools and lift a minimum of 70 lbs.

Must have close visual acuity to perform an activity including viewing a computer terminal, extensive reading, interpretation, etc.

Performs task in a demanding environment requiring multi-task and prioritize work.
Must be comfortable working and interacting with large groups of people daily.
