Job Summary

The City of Novato, CA is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Police Officer to join our team. As a Police Officer, you will be responsible for maintaining law and order, preventing crime, and providing excellent customer service to the community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patrol assigned areas to prevent and detect crime, and to enforce laws and regulations.
  • Respond to emergency calls and provide assistance as needed.
  • Conduct investigations and gather evidence to solve crimes.
  • Provide traffic enforcement and control, and issue citations as necessary.
  • Participate in community policing initiatives and build relationships with the public.
  • Collaborate with other law enforcement agencies to share information and best practices.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework or a degree in a related field preferred.
  • Valid California driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Completion of a POST-certified police academy or equivalent training.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make sound decisions in high-pressure situations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lift and carry equipment and supplies as needed.
