Universal Banker

As a key member of our team at Southern Michigan Bank & Trust, the Universal Banker plays a vital role in providing exceptional customer service and financial solutions to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process various financial transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, and wire transfers.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers by providing personalized service and support.
• Assist customers in opening new accounts, explaining available financial services, and discussing electronic services.
• Collect and provide necessary information for commercial loan and mortgage applications.
• Discuss and refer wealth management services to customers.
• Proactively sell bank products and services to meet customer needs.
• Support marketing initiatives and maintain a clean and organized branch environment.
• Balance drawers, prepare and verify cash shipments, and handle daily vault duties.
• Prepare and sign cashier's checks, loan checks, and wires within assigned limits.
• Open and close the branch during management's absence and audit other teller or universal banker drawers.
• Service, balance, and audit branch technology, including TCR, PTM, and coin machines.
• Close accounts when necessary and lead the branch during management's absence.
• Mentor and train incoming tellers and universal bankers.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent and one to three weeks of training.
• At least one year of equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and basic computer skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain confidentiality.
