We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Communication Specialist to join our public safety team. As a key member of our emergency response team, you will be responsible for handling emergency and non-emergency calls, dispatching public safety units, and providing critical support to our community.
About the Role:
- This is a full-time position that requires working varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- You will be responsible for receiving and responding to emergency and non-emergency calls, determining the nature and priority of each call, and dispatching public safety units accordingly.
- As a Communication Specialist, you will also be responsible for operating computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems, maintaining accurate records, and providing excellent customer service to the public.
- In addition, you will work closely with other public safety agencies to ensure effective communication and coordination.
Requirements:
- A high school diploma or equivalent certification is required.
- You must have a valid Florida driver's license and basic FCIC/NCIC certification or the ability to obtain it within six months of hire.
- Prior experience in emergency medical dispatch (EMD) and proficiency in using CAD systems are preferred.

- A salary range of $48,000 - $68,000 per year, depending on experience.
