Position Overview

Tact Staff is in search of a traveling Surgical Technologist for an exciting opportunity.

Job Responsibilities

The Surgical Technologist is tasked with the meticulous cleaning and management of surgical instruments in accordance with established protocols while ensuring accurate documentation.

Key Duties
  • Adhere to policies regarding the standardization of surgical setups and instrument handling.
  • Maintain accurate counts of sponges, needles, and instruments, and manage medications according to policy.
  • Handle specimens in compliance with operating room procedures.
  • Ensure proper decontamination, disinfection, sterilization, and sanitation of instruments and equipment.
  • Safely dispose of contaminated materials post-procedure.
  • Engage in team discussions to assess and enhance patient care strategies.
  • Keep skills proficiency checklist current by documenting equipment and cases.
  • Meet physical demands including lifting and moving equipment as necessary.
  • Tailor care delivery to meet the diverse needs of the patient population.
Qualifications

Required: Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist in an acute care setting. BLS certification is mandatory.

Preferred: Experience in at least two specialties such as Neurosurgery, Orthopedics, Robotic Surgery, or Endovascular Surgery.

Work Schedule

Shifts are typically 8 hours, Monday through Friday, with holidays as needed. On-call shifts may be required.
