Job Description

Minidoka Memorial Hospital seeks a skilled Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our team.

The ideal candidate will have experience with financial operations, including processing and monitoring incoming payments, and securing revenue by verifying and posting receipts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process accounts and incoming revenue in compliance with financial policies and procedures.
  • Ensure contractual payments are processed accurately.
  • Perform day-to-day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, computing, posting, and recording accounts receivables' data.
  • Maintain and scan Accounts Receivable reports into company files.
  • Prepare bank deposits.
  • Assist with reconciling the account receivable's ledger to ensure that all payments are accounted for and properly posted.
  • Investigate and resolve clients' payment issues, irregularities, or inquiries with the assistance of billers.
  • Resolve valid or authorized deductions by entering adjustment entries.
  • Assist the Controller with accounts payable data entry.
  • Protect employees and patients by keeping information confidential.
  • Assist the Controller with cross-referencing processed checks to vendor invoices.
  • Process account receivable refunds.
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
  • Actively engage in quality improvement activities.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Must be able to pass any and all background checks required by law

Preferred Requirements:

  • Associate's degree in Accounting, or related field
  • 1+ years of experience in a healthcare setting
  • 1+ years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting

Skills/Competencies:

  • Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • An ability to prioritize and manage expectations.
  • A keen eye for detail and ability to work independently.
  • Ability to communicate articulately and efficiently with other people within the company.
  • A mathematical background; add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Physical Requirements:

Perceive the nature of sounds by the ear, express or exchange ideas by means of spoken word, perceive characteristics of objects through the eyes, extend arms and hands in any direction, seize, hold, grasp, turn, or otherwise work with hands, pick, pinch, or otherwise work with fingers, perceive such attributes of objects or materials as size, shape, temperature, or texture; and stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl. Must be able to lift 50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of objects weighing up to 100 pounds. Continuous sitting. Must be able to identify, match, and distinguish colors.
