Job Title: Senior Database Reliability Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Database Reliability Engineer to join our team at Frontline Education. As a key member of our Data Operations Team, you will be responsible for ensuring the performance, integrity, and availability of our databases and accompanying software.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage and maintain database systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  • Perform routine audits to identify areas for improvement and implement changes to enhance database security and efficiency.
  • Design and performance tune database systems to meet the needs of our applications.
  • Maintain and report system performance statistics to inform data-driven decisions.
  • Design databases for optimal application performance and safeguard information against unauthorized access or modification.
  • Develop automation scripts to streamline routine tasks and improve operational efficiency.
  • Support a range of database management systems, including Microsoft SQL Server, MongoDB, DB2, PostgreSQL, and MySQL, both on-premise and in the cloud.
Requirements:
  • Comprehensive understanding of software development and database administration principles.
  • Strong grasp of SQL and experience with database performance optimization, automation, and scripting.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and influence decision-making.
  • Proven expertise in managing complex data systems and working with development teams to deliver application environments.
  • Experience with supporting highly transactional OLTP databases and high availability concepts.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on preventative actions and continuous improvement.
