Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Accounting Professional to join our team at the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification. As an Accounting Professional, you will be responsible for preparing financial reports, maintaining the general ledger, and ensuring the accuracy of financial transactions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare financial reports to track the organization's assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities.
- Maintain the general ledger, ensuring accurate and up-to-date financial records.
- Reconcile bank accounts, verify deposits, and address inquiries from banks.
- Reconcile customer accounts and manage accounts receivable collections.
- Verify payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensure payments are charged to the appropriate accounts.
- Provide outside auditors with assistance, gathering necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.
- File required tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies.
- Coordinate with software vendor to maintain accounting software system, recommending updates to enhance the accounting software.
- Enter, maintain, and/or process information in the payroll system, including employee's hourly rates, salaries, commissions, bonuses, or other compensation, time worked, paid leave and holidays, deductions and withholding, address changes, and other information.
- Ensure proper processing of payroll deductions for taxes, benefits, charitable contributions, and other deductions.
- Reconcile payroll to the general ledger and monthly bank statements.
- Issue, or reissue, physical or replacement checks or direct deposits due to payroll errors or final discharge.
- Record and process federal and state payroll tax deposits.
Requirements:
- Extensive knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting.
- Understanding of and ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
- Highly proficient with QuickBooks online.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
- Bachelor's or Associates degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline preferred.
- Three to five years of accounting experience required.
Compensation: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
