Part-Time Librarian

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Part-Time Librarian to join our team at Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College. The successful candidate will provide reference and instruction services to students, faculty, and staff, while also contributing to the development of library collections and resources.

• Deliver online and in-person reference assistance to students, faculty, and staff
• Teach information literacy courses, including library orientation and research skills
• Work as a liaison between the Library and designated academic programs
• Assist with collection development, including de-selection and weeding
• Create digital learning objects to promote library services and resources
• Provide general assistance with all areas of Library operation as needed

• Master of Library Science (MLS) or Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS) degree from an A.L.A. Accredited Library Science program
• Knowledge of print and electronic research resources in a variety of subject areas

• Experience providing reference services in an academic library setting
• Experience teaching the effective use of online and print research resources in information literacy classes
• Knowledge of trends and best practices in academic libraries
