Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Resource Specialist to join our team at the MI Coalition Against Homelessness. As an AmeriCorps Member, you will play a vital role in providing direct, supportive services to individuals experiencing or at-risk of homelessness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Network with employers to create access to employment opportunities
  • Support client job searches and assist with resume writing and employment applications
  • Assist with intakes to assess the housing needs of clients and address housing barriers
  • Regular contact with other local service providers to make referrals for clients
  • Provide linkages to GED, education, and skilled trade programs
  • Seek out employers/organizations who would be willing to assist at the agency for income and/or employment readiness
  • Work with clients to help balance budgets, create sustainable living plans, and provide information related to other income sources
  • Assist clients with applications to mainstream benefits or refer to case manager
  • Connect clients with additional necessary resources and generate information materials for clients
  • Provide follow-up services to clients as needed and other duties as assigned
