We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) for our Medical/Surgical unit in San Luis Obispo, CA. This role involves providing high-quality nursing care to patients with various medical conditions in a supportive and collaborative environment.
About the Job:
- This position requires delivering exceptional nursing care to patients with diverse diagnoses, including pneumonia, urinary tract infections, post-operative care, pain management, fractures, and dementia.
- Maintaining appropriate nurse-to-patient ratios, typically 1:6 or less during night shifts, is essential.
- The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring and assessing patients through vital signs checks, ambulation assistance, and support with daily living activities.
- Titration of intravenous drips as needed, primarily using Cardizem, while refreshing knowledge of policies and procedures due to infrequent use.
- Collaboration with the Charge Nurse for floor support is also necessary.
- Work alongside one patient care technician each shift to assist with non-invasive duties such as vital signs and patient rounding.
Salary Information: $40 to $50 per hour. The salary may vary based on experience and qualifications.
Qualifications:
- Current RN licensure in California with required certifications.
- BLS certification is required.
- ACLS certification.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
