About the Role:

As a Sustainability Analyst at Tosca, you will play a crucial role in our commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainable business practices. This entry-level position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to our sustainability initiatives through data analysis, lifecycle assessments (LCAs), and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) reporting. You will work to develop and implement sustainability programs, collaborating with corporations and individual clients/customers to reduce negative impacts on the environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Lifecycle Assessments (LCAs):

  • Conduct LCAs to support customer engagement and sales team efforts, ensuring accurate and comprehensive assessments that meet customer needs.
  • Prepare annual Environmental Footprint certificates for key customers, providing transparent and reliable data on their environmental impact.
  • Assist in maintaining and improving our LCA software and methodologies, staying up-to-date with the latest industry developments and best practices.
  • Gather and analyze data from various sources to enhance LCA accuracy, ensuring that our assessments are robust and reliable.

Data Management and Reporting:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to collect and manage ESG data, ensuring seamless integration and accurate reporting.
  • Create clear, insightful data presentations to track key performance indicators, providing actionable insights to inform business decisions.
  • Manage supplier data collection and engagement processes, fostering strong relationships with suppliers and ensuring compliance with sustainability standards.
  • Support the development of sustainability reports and disclosures, ensuring transparency and accountability in our sustainability efforts.

Environmental Impact Assessment:

  • Assess environmental footprints, including energy usage and gas, water, or other waste emissions, identifying areas for improvement and developing strategies to reduce negative impacts.
  • Develop and assess the viability of strategies to support conservation, increase usage of renewable resources, improve efficiency, or reduce energy costs or wasteful output, ensuring that our sustainability initiatives are effective and impactful.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Stay informed about trends in LCA methodologies, sustainability reporting standards, and market developments, ensuring that our sustainability practices are aligned with industry best practices.
  • Contribute to the improvement of internal sustainability processes and tools, identifying areas for improvement and developing solutions to enhance our sustainability efforts.
  • Assist in ad-hoc sustainability projects and analyses as needed, providing support and expertise to ensure successful project outcomes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Sustainability, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • 0-2 years of experience in a sustainability-related role.
  • Knowledge of LCA methodologies and sustainability reporting frameworks (e.g., GRI, SBTi, CDP).
  • Experience with LCA software.
  • Familiarity with ESG data management and reporting processes.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Passion for sustainability and environmental issues.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Problem-solving and situation-analysis skills.
