Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Diagnostic Imaging Specialist to join our team at FlexStaff Careers. As an Ultrasound Technologist, you will play a critical role in performing high-quality ultrasound exams to aid in patient diagnosis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Exam Preparation: Prepare patients for ultrasound exams, positioning them on the examination table according to departmental standard operating procedures, and explaining procedures in a clear and concise manner to alleviate patient anxiety.
  • Imaging and Diagnostic Reports: Obtain pertinent imaging and diagnostic reports required for correlation with ultrasound exams, and consult with referring physicians regarding patient history and the appropriate ultrasound exam required.
  • Equipment Setup and Operation: Set up equipment to administer particular exams in a timely fashion, using settings on machines to ensure accurate results, and exercising technical judgment.
  • Image Analysis and Documentation: Recognize the significance of structures visualized in the oscilloscope, differentiate artifacts from normal or pathologic processes, and determine the need for more extensive evaluations beyond preliminary instructions. Document image details and labels studies, maintaining records and logs of exams performed.
  • Equipment Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Perform minor repairs and frequent calibration checks on ultrasound equipment, troubleshoot mechanical problems, and make necessary adjustments.
Requirements
  • Vocational or Technical School Diploma: Required.
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Certification: Current and required, plus specialized certifications as needed.
  • Technical Experience: 1-3 years of experience in a related field, required.
