POSITION OVERVIEW
The Senior Pharmacy Technician plays a crucial role in the pharmacy operations, providing support to pharmacists in their daily tasks. Under the guidance of licensed professionals, this position ensures the effective, efficient, and timely execution of responsibilities within the Pharmacy Department.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE
A high school diploma or GED is mandatory, along with relevant experience in the field. A valid pharmacy technician license from the Texas State Board of Pharmacy is essential. Candidates should possess a minimum of four years of experience as a registered pharmacy technician (RPhT). Additionally, pharmacy technicians must fulfill career advancement criteria as per their designated work location.
Completion of college or vocational courses in fundamental sciences, mathematics, business, or related disciplines, as well as participation in a pharmacy technician training program, is highly desirable.
Those designated as cash handlers must successfully complete the Patient Services Cashier training and be recognized as a Patient Services Cashier during their initial probationary phase.LICENSING REQUIREMENTS
Registration with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy is a prerequisite.
