Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee technical initiatives, document results, and propose enhancements for ongoing projects.
  • Manage Linux servers and workstations through hands-on administration.
  • Address and resolve escalated support issues, including software, hardware, and network challenges.
  • Update and maintain Linux systems, ensuring timely software installations.
  • Configure IT infrastructure, services, directories, and storage in accordance with project specifications.
  • Implement security updates regularly to safeguard systems.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for system configurations and troubleshooting.
  • Balance multiple responsibilities while prioritizing tasks based on client requirements.
  • Provide strategic support to management regarding technology initiatives and process enhancements.
  • Monitor laboratory environments, assist users, and uphold IT policies.
  • Develop operational procedures for laboratory support, identifying areas for improvement and automation.
  • Contribute to the strategic vision for non-production environments and assist in their execution.
  • Install and configure AFMS products in laboratory settings and at client sites.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering Management, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • U.S. citizenship is necessary to secure and maintain a Secret Security clearance.
  • 5-7 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Familiarity with various server types including web, file, and application servers.
  • Proficient in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, and PERL.
  • Experience with RHEL-based Linux distributions.
  • Knowledge of automation tools, with a preference for Ansible; familiarity with Terraform is a plus.
  • Understanding of VMware vCenter and vSphere v6.5 or later.
  • Experience with container technologies like Docker and Kubernetes is advantageous.
  • Solid understanding of networking principles and TCP/IP.
  • Knowledge of patch management processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational abilities.
  • Capability to deliver exceptional customer service while managing multiple tasks.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to interact effectively with users.
  • Self-driven with a keen ability to learn new IT technologies swiftly.
