Job Summary

This position is for our Flowood Mobile Team and is located in Flowood, MS. Our Donor Technicians are on the front line every day, serving our blood donors and assisting them in their desire to donate the blood components needed to save lives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Exceptional Customer Service: Interact with donors in a friendly, supportive, and professional manner.
  • Registration and Screening: Perform all aspects of registration, donor screening, safety procedures, and screening for special procedures, and venipuncture in an accurate and efficient manner.
  • Donor Bed Management: Effectively manage 2 donor beds.
  • Data Entry and Documentation: Perform accurate computer data entry and accurate paperwork documentation.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Calibrate and maintain cleanliness of equipment before and after collection activities.
  • Supply Management: Assist in loading supplies and setup/breakdown of mobiles.
  • CPR Certification: Acquire and maintain current CPR certification.
  • Attendance and Reliability: Achieve and maintain an excellent attendance record.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Help perform pre-trip inspections on vehicles.
  • Vehicle Cleanliness: Help maintain interior cleanliness of all MBS vehicles.
  • Supply Preparation: Assist in ensuring that all supplies are packed and ready for mobiles.
  • Vehicle Operation: Operate MBS vehicles on a PRN basis.
  • Meetings and Training: Attend all required meetings.
Requirements
  • Education: High school graduate or equivalent; stable work history, previous experience or training desirable.
  • Computer Skills: Basic computer skills, including accurate data entry; typing test will be given via the WIN centers upon our instruction to do so.
  • Driver's License: Valid driver's license with an excellent driving record.
  • CDL: Willingness to obtain a CDL is a definite plus.
  • Work Schedule: Ability to meet fluctuating and irregular work schedules with frequent travel, including some overnight travel and out of town mobiles.
  • Teamwork: Desire to make a difference - in this case, a lifesaving difference - every single day.
  • Communication: Ability to work with and through others in a friendly, cooperative, unselfish manner.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to frequently lift and move equipment and supplies, both light and heavy loads (up to 50lbs and occasionally lift and/or move up to 110lbs with assistance).
  • Work History: Stable work history.
