Key Responsibilities:
  1. Conduct comprehensive safety assessments for military weapon systems.
  2. Engage in risk evaluation and resolution, along with incident investigations.
Essential Qualifications:
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Active DoD Security Clearance (investigation completed within the last 5 years).
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field with a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with at least 7 years of experience.
  • Proven expertise in applying MIL-STD-882E for safety analysis and risk mitigation in system design and procedures.
  • Experience in documenting hazards utilizing a closed-loop Hazard Tracking System (HTS).
  • Familiarity with electrical circuit design principles.
  • Ability to develop safety documentation in compliance with MIL-STD-882E, including SSPP, PHA, FHA, SHA/SuSHA, Bent Pin Analyses, FTA, SAR, and Software Safety Analyses.
  • Experience in creating, reviewing, updating, and approving system safety documentation and requirements.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, independence, and effective communication abilities with both internal and external stakeholders.
Desirable Qualifications:
  • Capability to interpret electrical circuit schematics.
  • Experience in implementing and testing software safety standards.
  • Background in missile systems design.
  • In-depth knowledge of military system safety standards and their industry equivalents, such as MIL-STD-882, RCC 319, AFSPCMAN 91-710, ASTM, ANSI, NEC, AFOSH, AOP-52, JOTP-051, PESHE, NFPA.
  • Understanding of the System Safety Incident Investigation process.
