About the Role:
This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a strong commitment to providing excellent healthcare services to students. As a Healthcare Provider, you will be responsible for administering health care to students, providing guidance on health-related issues, and collaborating with teachers and staff to develop safety plans for students with special healthcare needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Compiling and maintaining cumulative health records for each student, including medical history, allergies, and medications;
- Providing emergency or immediate first aid to students and staff, and initiating incident reports as needed;
- Assisting with emergency procedures to minimize the effects of accidents and illnesses;
- Maintaining daily records of students seen in the clinic and treatment administered;
- Completing reports as required by school procedures and state regulations;
- Managing medication brought to school by parents and administering per medication permission form;
- Maintaining adequate supplies in the school clinic;
- Preparing confidential health alert lists and advising teachers and staff of special needs;
- Working with teachers to develop safety plans for students with special healthcare needs;
- Maintaining first aid kits for bus drivers;
- Preparing medications for staff to administer during field trips;
- Developing policies to improve healthcare services;
Requirements:
- A bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) or a related field;
- A current Commonwealth of Virginia R.N. License;
- Computer and clerical skills;
- Excellent oral and written communication skills;
- Able to maintain confidentiality;
- A strong commitment to Christian education;
- Regular attendance at an evangelical Protestant church;
- A solid commitment based on Mark 10:9 and a positive marital relationship if married;
- Possesses Christian character qualities to serve as a role model for young people and readiness to share faith in Christ with students;
Salary Range:
$60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
