Key Responsibilities:
As a Financial Services Advisor, you will:

  • Assess the financial needs of patients referred for counseling, either in person or via phone, to develop tailored financial solutions.
  • Utilize CPT codes to provide accurate cost estimates for procedures.
  • Evaluate patient benefits and determine eligibility for Medicaid or other financial assistance programs based on established policies.
  • Educate patients on their financial obligations and assist them in understanding the process for applying for financial aid.
  • Communicate hospital billing practices and patient rights effectively.
  • Assist insured patients with outstanding balances by providing financial overviews and supporting them in completing necessary documentation.
  • Collaborate with various departments to establish suitable financial arrangements for elective services.
  • Identify and resolve potential billing issues, ensuring a smooth experience for patients.
  • Monitor accounts for significant balances and follow up as needed.
  • Guide patients to local, state, or federal resources for additional support.

Qualifications:
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Background checks as mandated by state regulations.

Preferred Experience:
- Minimum of two years in a healthcare environment.

Core Skills:
- Proficient in computer systems and software for processing financial information.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Basic understanding of medical terminology and third-party payer processes.

Work Environment:
This position is primarily office-based but may involve interactions in patient care settings.

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to perform various physical tasks, including sitting for extended periods and lifting objects up to 50 pounds.
