**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a seasoned Mission System Architect to join our team at Umbra, a pioneering company that pushes the boundaries of space systems and technology. This leadership role will focus on developing innovative solutions, products, and technologies to meet current and future U.S. Government needs.

As a key member of our Mission Solutions department, you will be responsible for driving the development of integrated space and ground solutions concepts, leveraging Umbra's cutting-edge technology. You will work closely with our Space Systems and Software departments to design and mature new mission solutions, ensuring alignment between strategy, future mission requirements, and commercial objectives.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in space-based ISR systems, experience with first-order design concepts, CONOPs development, and performance estimation. A proven track record of leading teams and driving concept maturity into white papers, solicitation responses, and R&D efforts is essential. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact effectively with customers and staff are also crucial.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Develop and mature integrated space and ground solutions concepts, leveraging Umbra's technology.
  • Perform mission systems engineering, performance analysis, and use case analysis of conceptual designs and architectural solutions.
  • Inform the technical portfolio development across the company, ensuring strategic alignment.
  • Support the Director of Mission Architecture in developing a robust Modeling and Simulation capability.
  • Contribute to Government Programs capture activities as a key technical expert.

**Requirements and Qualifications:**

  • Demonstrated expertise in space-based ISR systems and end-to-end solution development.
  • Experience with first-order design concepts, CONOPs development, and performance estimation.
  • Strong leadership and collaboration skills, with a proven ability to drive concept maturity.
  • Ability to interact effectively with customers and staff, and a sound understanding of mathematics.
  • At least 6+ years of experience in space-based mission system design, development, and/or operations.
  • Current TS/SCI clearance.
