Job Summary

Clearwater Marine Aquarium is a non-profit organization committed to the rescue, rehabilitation, and release of marine wildlife. To enhance our guests' experience, we operate a lively café that provides a diverse range of food and beverage options.

We are looking for skilled bartenders to support our events team. Successful candidates will be able to execute essential responsibilities effectively. The qualifications listed below reflect the knowledge, skills, abilities, physical demands, and work environment associated with this role and are not exhaustive.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manage both pre-event and post-event bar setup and breakdown.
  • Prepare the bar area efficiently.
  • Maintain clear communication with bar support staff during events to ensure timely replenishment.
  • Welcome all guests and provide outstanding customer service.
  • Be attentive to guests' needs throughout the event.
  • Clean the bar area after closing, including disposing of excess ice.
  • Document closing inventory to reconcile bar usage with sales.
  • Return all items to their original storage after events.
Other related duties may be assigned as necessary.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:
  • Minimum of 2 years bartending experience.
  • Strong team player with excellent communication skills.
  • Proficient in crafting mixed drinks.
  • Exceptional customer service abilities and organizational skills.
  • TIPs certification required (Team certification accepted or training provided).
  • Highly responsible and accountable.
  • Maintain good grooming and personal hygiene standards.
  • Knowledge of upscale and VIP service styles is essential.
  • Must reside near Clearwater or be willing to relocate.
Special Skills:
  • Outstanding listening and communication skills.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting approximately 40 lbs.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Strong customer service focus with a commitment to exceeding client expectations.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Work Environment

This role involves attending events, preparing for them, and assisting with setup and breakdown. The primary work location will be Clearwater Marine Aquarium.

Uniform Requirements

Physical Requirements
  • Extended periods of movement throughout event spaces and travel between venues.
  • Bending, lifting, and carrying various equipment and food items.
  • Physical stamina to handle long shifts in a dynamic environment.
