Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Weill Cornell Medicine. As a key member of our clinical staff, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and collaborating with our attending physicians to coordinate and direct patient care within our specialty area(s).

Responsibilities

Provide patient care on an inpatient and/or outpatient service

Establish priorities for nursing care through patient assessment and develop nursing care plans

Prepare equipment and assist provider during examination, testing, and treatment of patients as needed

Coordinate multidisciplinary health care services and arrange diagnostic tests as ordered by physician(s) when needed

Perform inpatient diagnostic testing, therapeutic, and interventional procedures in conjunction with physician as needed

Triage patient inquiries and communicate test results

Administer appropriate injections and medications as ordered by medical providers in compliance with state law and clinic guidelines

Educate patients and staff on pharmacological/drug effects and protocol requirements, if applicable

Requirements

Master's of Science Degree in Nursing

Approximately 2 or more years of clinical experience as an NP in a physician practice or hospital setting, preferably within a related specialty

Demonstrated critical thinking and analytical skills

Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)

Team oriented individual that works collaboratively to achieve team goals

Licenses and Certifications

NYS Registered Nurse Practitioner (NP) license and current NP registration

NYS Registered Professional Nurse license and current RN registration

Applicable National Board Certification (such as ANCC, PNCB, etc)

Current BLS (must be issued by American Heart Association)

Infection Control Certificate

Current Narcotics DEA registration certificate
