KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Deliver comprehensive medical care by conducting patient interviews, examinations, and treatments to address their healthcare needs.
- Provide education to patients regarding wellness, preventive measures, and early detection by supplying relevant materials and resources.
- Assess the necessity of referrals based on patient evaluations and individual needs.
- Evaluate the urgency of follow-up appointments and consultations.
- Exercise final medical judgment in all healthcare-related matters.
- Prescribe appropriate medical treatments and medications.
- Order necessary diagnostic studies, tests, and ancillary services.
- Maintain accurate documentation of all services in the patient’s medical record.
- Regularly review long-term cases requiring ongoing medical management.
- Assist in addressing patient complaints, requests, and inquiries.
- Ensure confidentiality of all patient information in accordance with federal regulations.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- MD or DO in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Geriatrics, or a related specialty is required.
- Possession of a valid State Medical License or the ability to obtain one for the state of practice.
- Board certification in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Geriatrics, or a similar specialty is preferred; board eligibility is mandatory.
- Maintain board certification through necessary MOC, CME, and/or re-examinations as required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory.
- A current DEA number for controlled substances (Schedule II-V) is required.
