Concrete Finisher Job Description

Mortenson is seeking a skilled Concrete Finisher to ensure the highest quality finish on our concrete projects. As a Concrete Finisher, you will be responsible for establishing and adjusting work sequences to meet schedule, using knowledge of equipment and personnel capacities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Form concrete slab on grade and install edge forms.
  • Set screeds to ensure a level surface and grind and patch required areas in concrete.
  • Direct operations during concrete pour and analyze and resolve work problems.
  • Ensure crew timecards are filled out and turned in, and effectively work and build relationships with diverse backgrounds and organizational levels.
  • Lead team members by example, offer effective coaching and feedback, and manage performance.
Requirements
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety regulations, operation and maintenance instructions, blueprints, and schematic drawings.
  • Ability to use appropriate tools, including trowels, brushes, bull floats, screeds, skid saws, transits, chipping guns, and grinders.
  • Strong teamwork orientation and positive attitude with professional customer service skills.
  • Detail orientation and knowledge of equipment and their uses.
  • Basic mathematical skills and active listening skills with effective communication.
