Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Baker's Helper to join our team at KTA Super Stores. As a key member of our bakery team, you will be responsible for assisting our bakers in preparing, baking, and producing high-quality products for our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist bakers in preparing and baking products for the display case and special orders
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by providing excellent customer service and meeting the needs of all customers
  • Prepare and mix fillings, batters, frostings, and other items needed to produce bakery products
  • Follow all safe food handling guidelines and maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned, including receiving and storing freight, ordering supplies, and cleaning and maintaining equipment
Requirements
  • Must be at least 16 years of age to work in a walk-in freezer or chill box, and use a case cutter and knife
  • Must be at least 18 years of age to clean, maintain, or operate a stove, oven, bread slicer, and any other power-driven equipment
  • Basic math skills and ability to multitask to accomplish work on time
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, and work under minimal or no supervision
Working Conditions

Work in an air-conditioned building with a high volume of customers and co-workers, and occasionally go outdoors to receive freight, discard trash, and bale boxes.

Equipment Use

Use a gas oven, electric fryer, mixer, donut glazer, and proofer to prepare bakery items for special orders and display showcase, as well as a single burner electric stove, balance scale, pastry scissors, donut cutter, knives, spatulas, measuring cups and spoons, microwave, and pastry filler machine to produce cakes, breads, and other bakery products.
