Network Engineer III Job Description

At Inland Empire Health Plan, we are seeking a highly skilled Network Engineer III to join our team. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our network infrastructure to ensure seamless communication and data exchange.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement network architecture to meet business needs, including Cisco platforms, WAN circuits, and network security solutions.
  • Provide technical support to remote area networks, Internet, and VPN communications, ensuring high availability and performance.
  • Troubleshoot network issues, including network usage, perimeter security, and network appliances, to minimize downtime and ensure business continuity.
  • Develop and implement policies and standards to ensure security procedures are followed, protecting our network and data from cyber threats.
  • Build and maintain external and internal web presence, administering networks and ensuring secure access to our systems.
  • Perform network systems appliance backups on internal and external backbone devices, ensuring data integrity and availability.
  • Document network infrastructure and design, providing a clear understanding of our network architecture.
  • Assist with space planning associated with network infrastructure needs, ensuring efficient use of resources.
  • Research, order, configure, and administer WAN circuits, ensuring high-speed data transfer and communication.
  • Work with vendors, clients, carriers, and technical staff on network implementation, optimization, and ongoing management, ensuring seamless collaboration and communication.
  • Assist in design, installation, and management of network security solutions, protecting our network and data from cyber threats.
  • Provide level 3 support on client-level IT issues resulting in production downtime, ensuring prompt resolution and minimizing business impact.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum eight (8) years of network design and administration experience with Palo Alto Networks, Cisco routers, switches, and security solutions, and Cisco recommended best practices.
  • Bachelor's degree with a major in computer-related field or similar technical field from an accredited institution.
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification preferred.
  • Strong planning, organization, critical thinking, decision-making, and communication (verbal and written) skills.
