Responsibilities- Assist dentists and hygienists with patient exams, treatments, and procedures
- Prepare and maintain dental instruments, equipment, and supplies
- Take and record patient vital signs, including pulse, blood pressure, and temperature
- Document patient information and treatment plans
- Provide patient education and instruction on oral health and hygiene
- Assist with x-rays, sterilization, and other dental procedures
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure seamless patient care
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Graduate of a state-approved dental assistant program
- Current certification as a Certified Expanded Duty Dental Assistant in the State of Louisiana
- 6 months of experience in a dental office or completion of a training course in dental assistance
- CPR certification by the American Board for Dental Assisting preferred
This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced dental environment, with frequent exposure to disease and infection. The ideal candidate will be able to lift up to 15 pounds, push, pull, stoop, bend, and stand for extended periods.
