Job Summary

As a Cardiac Ultrasound Tech III at Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality diagnostic ultrasound images to support patient care. Under the direction of the technical supervisor and medical director, you will demonstrate competency and proficiency in all skills required to perform level I routine ultrasound procedures as defined by department protocols.

Key Responsibilities
  • Utilize independent judgment and required knowledge to obtain high-quality diagnostic ultrasound images.
  • Evaluate the technical quality of images obtained before submitting them to the interpreting radiologist.
  • Educate patients and families about the procedure and report changes in patient status, including initiating emergency response if required.
  • Accurately document patient information in hospital systems.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements
  • Associate's degree or higher.
  • Graduate of an ARDMS-approved ultrasound program.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience is preferred but will consider new grads.
  • Experience with adult, neonate, and pediatric cardiac ultrasound as well as stress echocardiograms, TEEs, and Intra-Operative TEE preferred.

Certifications Required
  • BLS.
  • American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) registered in one or more specialties: Non-Invasive Cardiac Imaging.
