Job Title: PRN - Ultrasound Tech

Conemaugh Nason Medical Center is seeking a PRN Ultrasound Tech to join our team. As a key member of our Radiology department, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our organization.

Job Summary:

The Ultrasound Tech will administer high-frequency sound waves to demonstrate portions of the human body for use in diagnosing medical problems. They will prepare patients for examinations by explaining the procedure, removing clothing that interferes with scanning, and appropriately positioning the patient for the proper examination.

Responsibilities:
  • Identify patients with two patient identifiers and review orders for clinical and demographic consistency and verify accuracy.
  • Interview patients for clinical history, review previous procedures, and document relevant history for the Radiologist.
  • Explain procedures to patients and prepare them for examinations.
  • Operate ultrasound equipment and perform procedures in accordance with established protocols and in a timely manner.
  • Recognize sonographic appearances of normal and abnormal tissue and correctly operate ultrasound equipment.
  • Demonstrate support of the mission, vision, values, goals, and general policies of Conemaugh Nason Medical Center.
  • Comply with corporate compliance guidelines and requirements of federal, state, and local regulatory and accrediting agencies.
  • Adhere to the standards of professional ethics and handle confidential information in strict conformance with departmental and Medical Center policies.
Requirements:
  • ARDMS Certified
  • Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action
  • Ability to meet patient age-specific and emotional needs
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks yet meet deadlines
  • Ability to professionally communicate with patients, physicians, and fellow employees
