Position Overview:
Lentech is in search of a skilled Unix Systems Administrator with a solid foundation in development and scripting. This role is essential for managing both Unix and application administration within a significant Federal application environment utilized by a vast user base.

Key Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will possess a minimum of six (6) years of hands-on experience with Redhat Enterprise Linux in a production setting. Responsibilities include:

  • Implementing patch management, upgrades, and security hardening.
  • Utilizing development and scripting skills to automate processes and troubleshoot application-related issues.
  • Providing support, configuration, and troubleshooting for Apache Tomcat within the application environment.

Work Environment:
This position is primarily remote, with a preference for candidates located in Austin, TX, or Washington, DC. Candidates must be eligible for Public Trust clearance.

Qualifications:
Experience with UKG webTA and/or GovTA COTS applications is mandatory. The candidate is expected to enhance their understanding of UKG GovTA and Tomcat integration, becoming a subject matter expert in this Government application system.

Additional Responsibilities:
As part of a collaborative team, the candidate will also engage in after-hours and weekend support as necessary for:

  • Patching
  • Release management
  • Incident response activities

Candidates must successfully pass a background investigation and obtain Public Trust clearance. AWS experience is advantageous, and candidates are expected to achieve an AWS cloud certification within the first year, with Lentech providing online training support.

Required Education and Experience:
A Bachelor’s degree or six years of experience in Unix Administration and application support, complemented by basic scripting knowledge, is required. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, along with the ability to collaborate effectively within a diverse, interdisciplinary team.
