Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Machinist to join our team at Fenner Precision Polymers. The successful candidate will be responsible for machining parts for our company and external customers, utilizing a range of machine shop equipment.
Key Responsibilities:- Operate various machine shop equipment, including mills, saws, lathes, grinders, and hand tools.
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings and sketches to construct machined parts and assemblies.
- Perform metal removal operations using hand-held tools and knowledge of welding and cutting procedures.
- Maintain and properly use all equipment in the machine shop.
- Identify and order general shop items, sharpen drill bits and tool bits, and prepare necessary documentation.
- Operate material handling equipment and use typical shop inspection equipment.
- Follow general safety rules, including Lock Out / Tag Out, daily clean up, and proper handling of chemicals and solvents.
- Instruct other associates on safe operation of shop equipment and report equipment in need of repair or maintenance.
- High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Six years of working experience in the machining trade for Machinist I, and ten or more years for Machinist II.
- State-approved Journeyman Machinist or Tool and Die Maker Certificate.
