About the Job:

Sysco is seeking an experienced Diesel Fleet Technician III to join our team. This is a critical role in maintaining the safety and reliability of our fleet, ensuring that our vehicles are always ready for delivery.

Job Summary:

We're looking for a skilled technician who can perform quality preventive maintenance inspections and repairs on all fleet vehicles, including tractors, trailers, converter dollies, light-duty vehicles, and other company-owned equipment. You'll be responsible for ensuring that our vehicles meet federal, state, and local regulations, as well as performing expert diagnosis and repair of electrical systems, refrigeration units, and other complex vehicle components.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform quality preventive maintenance inspections per company methods on all fleet vehicles.
  • Repair and replace faulty parts, including engines, transmissions, and electrical systems.
  • Diagnose and repair complex problems with refrigeration units, lift-gates, and other vehicle components.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed and ensure that all documentation meets regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with other technicians to ensure seamless workflow and minimize downtime.

Requirements:

  • 5 years of experience in fleet maintenance and repair or equivalent education and training.
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • ASE certifications; Automotive or Medium/Heavy Duty Trucks (preferred but not required).
  • Working knowledge of computer-based diagnostic software for OEM's and component manufacturers.
  • Able to lift up to 100 lbs and work in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Annual Inspector Certification Knowledge, Skills and Abilities.
  • Brake Inspector Certification Knowledge, Skills and Abilities.
  • EPA section 608 (Core & Type II) and 609 HVAC Refrigeration Certification.
  • Moderate knowledge and skill in welding and cutting (gas, electric, MIG, TIG).
