Job Summary

The Talbot Hospice Foundation, Inc. is seeking a skilled Certified Nursing Assistant / Certified Medication Technician to join our team in a part-time evening shift position, working every other weekend. As a member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality care to our patients in a 12-bed facility, promoting comfort and dignity in their final stages of life.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide personal care services to patients, including bathing, back rubs, oral hygiene, and changing bed linen as assigned.
  • Assist with dressing and undressing patients, as well as planning and preparing nutritious meals.
  • Take and record vital signs, including temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure, as ordered.
  • Assess and report on patient condition and significant changes to the Case Manager.
  • Participate in quality assessment and performance improvement teams and activities.
Requirements
  • Meets the training requirements of the State and holds dual licensure as a CNA and CMT.
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Ability to read and follow written instructions and document care given.
  • Understands hospice philosophy and is comfortable providing specialized care to the terminally ill.
  • Satisfactory references from previous employers.
  • Self-directing with the ability to work with little direct supervision.
  • Possesses and maintains current CPR certification.
  • Demonstrates tact, patience, and good personal hygiene.
Working Conditions
  • Congregate living home-like environment.
  • Exposure to infectious diseases.
  • Ability to frequently lift at least 50 pounds and occasionally up to 75 pounds.
