LPN (PRN, Part-Time, Full-Time) - Ongoing Need

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team at the Federal Medical Center in Ayer, MA. As an LPN, you will provide high-quality patient care services to inmates in a correctional setting.
Key Responsibilities- Assist physicians and mid-level providers with procedures and provide ambulatory nursing care, evaluations, and treatments.
- Administer medications, including pill/insulin line, as directed by the physician.
- Triage screening of inmates and perform veni-punctures as needed.
- Assist BOP staff with care of inpatient mental health inmates and perform clerical duties.
- Provide direct patient care services, including evaluation and therapeutic treatment, in accordance with legal, ethical, and institutional standards.
- Establish diagnostic impressions and request appropriate diagnostic tests, and interpret results.
- Document all clinical encounters using the Bureau of Prisons Electronic Medical Record.
- Review ordered tests and procedures within 24 hours of receiving results or the next business day.
- Administer medication as prescribed and secure a health and developmental history from patients.
- Provide a wide range of emergency services, including primary care for trauma and lifesaving procedures.
- Serve as the primary provider for routine requests for evaluation of new complaints, for routine recurring visits for chronic illness, and emergencies when clinically indicated.
- Manage the daily operation of the clinic and conduct daily sick call.
- Possess a valid and current unrestricted licensure as a Licensed Professional Nurse in the United States.
- Minimum of 1-year recent experience in acute care, ambulatory care, or psychiatric care facility as a licensed professional nurse.
- Certified in Health Care Provider/Basic Life Support in accordance with the American Heart Association.
- Must have experience with medical equipment and documentation of medication administration competency.
